Villa overview

Located on the coast between the villages of Malfa and Santa Marina is this classic Aeolian villa. The villa is built in typical Aeolian style with flat roofs, white stucco walls and colummed terraces shaded by cane mats "cannizzi". Salina's signature mark is its wonderful green landscape that is now a UNESCO world heritage site.

The villa is engrossed in spenlid lush gardens that look downwards towards the sea. The villa is positioned on a hillside and the gardens layout gradually slopes downwards towards the sea cliffs with an array of beautifully maintained plants, trees and cacti and of course the small parrot sanctuary in the heart of it all.

The large terrace is ideal for relaxing and dining (complete with BBQ) and certainly enjoying the views and those summer breezes. The panoramic views from here are breathtaking and the distant islands of Panarea, Stromboli and Lipari can all be seen, and quite special at sunset. These can also be enjoyed on one of the sun beds especially arranged so that the views are at their best.

The spendor of this villa continues inside where there are two double bedrooms and two equally spacious bathrooms. The villa is spacious and comprises of one dining/living area that leads out onto the terrace and another living area with a fire place. The kitchen is of a good size and also has a stone oven. The villa is decorated very tastefully and to an immaculate standard.

Amenities

The area

Unlike some of the other islands Salina has managed to maintain a calm atmosphere. There are plenty of excellent restaurants and small shops, some selling local crafts. The typical delicacies are the large capers and the locally produced Malvasia wine, that in fact comes from the vineyards of Capofara only a few minutes away from Villa Salina.

Due to the magnificent changing landscapes there are plenty of hiking trails and the natural park for you to visit. Diving is also a particularly popular excursion here as well as boat tours of the island.

Travelling to the island is easy, there is a ferryboat and hydrofoil service that connects Sicily with the islands. The service can also take you between the islands of Lipari, Vulcano, Stromboli, Salina, Alicudi and Filicudi. A helicopter service is also available between the islands.
