Trecastagni
An original palmento (wine press) transformed into a lovely and characteristic holiday house close to the glorious Mount Etna and its national park.
This beautiful house is situated close to Trecastagni, a small village on the south-eastern side of Mount Etna, just 15km away from Catania. This charming location is characterised by vineyards, orchards and low dry stone walls. Palmentino Rosso has been beautifully restored retaining its charm, character and original features including vaulted ceilings, terracotta floor tiles, and stone door arches. Dating back to the 17th century this property was once used as a palmento meaning it was used as a wine press but now offers a very cosy and nicely decorated holiday home. The property consists of a living room with fireplace and a kitchen on the ground floor. On a raised first floor there is a living room/study that overlooks the kitchen, one double bedroom and one twin bedroom both with balconies and one bathroom with shower. The third double bedroom also available as a twin is on the lower floor. There is also another bathroom with tub and a laundry room on this floor. Outside there is a large garden with a pergola covered patio creating a perfect area to relax and enjoy the colours and fragrances of the surrounding Sicilian countryside.
